Chandler 0.7alpha4 Known Bugs

The following is a list of known problems and issues in the alpha4 release. We expect to update this page as any new critical problems are discovered.

General issues

• Bug:3405 - Reminder cannot be dismissed if it comes up on top of the accounts dialog.
• Bug:2627 - New note invisible at the bottom when summary view is full of items.
• Bug:3307 - Dragging multiple items is awkward.
• Bug:2497 - 'Send' doesn't change to 'Send to New' when you add invitees to a shared collection.
• Bug:6001 - If you receive a read-write ticket you don't automatically have access to the read only ticket which you could then distribute to others.
• Bug:7123 - Repository merges deletes the selection.
• Bug:7173 - URL you subscribe to in Chandler needs to be a URL to a .ics file NOT an HTML file.
• Bug:7158 - Exceptions getting logged to the log file when they aren't really error. This means that active dogfooders looking at the logs might see something and log a bug, when there really isn't one. This is happening when Zanshin encounter instance timeouts and server not responding errors.
  • ie: TimeoutError^?: User timeout caused connection failure.

• Dashboard date column is not prioritizing Calendar and Tickler dates over Date sent and Last modified date. As a result, if you edit an event and/or send an event or a tickled item, the event/tickler date will disappear.
• Items automatically re-sort when changing Triage status. This means if you change an item from Now to Later, it automatically disappears from the section you are currently viewing. This is problematic if you want to change an item from Now to Done since you need to cycle through Later.

Platform specific issues

• Windows
  • Bug:2603 - Uninstall does not remove all files
  • Bug:4849 - Emptying recurring events from trash puts any modifications in All Items.
  • Bug:6171 - Update Windows launchers to support unicode, remove MFC dependency, and add a translation mechanism.
• Mac
  • Bug:4611 - Clicking on the app icon after minimizing the Chandler window doesn't work. It doesn't automatically redisplay the Chandler window on top.
  • Bug:1753 - Using the window Close button on chandler on Mac quits the application.
  • Bug:3307 - Multo-select and dragging items in summary table view is not always working.
• Linux
  • Bug:2686 - Scrollbars appearing intermittently on mult-line control. Text control appearing and disappearing when you double click.
  • Bug:6529 - Drawing issue and interference with the scrollbar causes only half of triage column displays on linux.
  • Bug:6916 - Chandler doesn't run on Unbuntu if you haven't ever run a package or don't have libSDL installed. The work around is to install libSDL. Chandler's version of wxWindows requires libSDL.

Performance related issues

• Bug:1692 - Chandler uses too much memory on startup with empty repository.
• Bug:1849 - Performance: startup time is slow.
• Bug:3380 - Long running chandler grows memory footprint.
• Bug:3988 - Importing a 3000 item calendar is slow.
• Bug:2064 - Running unit tests takes a long time.
