Proposed workflows

Background: This is a rough draft of a minimum set of 0.4 features the design group is most interested in. We need to have discussions with the apps and repository teams to come up with the final set of 0.4 workflows and features.

Building layouts

  • Tabbed views
  • Moving items between tabs
  • Creating new windows with full chrome

SidebarSpec

  • Accomodating different view types in the sidebar (no trays)

  • Out of the box views [exact list TBD]
  • Smart playlists
    • Mail: In
    • Mail: Out
    • My Calendar
    • FYI Calendar
    • Trash
also:
    • contacts
    • tasks
    • notes
  • Complex queryviews (will there be any?)

  • User created views (users cannot create rule-based views)
  • Explicit playlists (include conversion from collection)
  • Single items

  • Kind filter bar

StampingWorkflow

  • Stamp an item in the Summary Table View (no stamping in the Detail view)

AdhocCollectionsWorkflow

  • For 0.4 simplification, limit 1 collection per item
  • Drag and drop 1 item onto another item to create a collection
  • Collections open in-place

Summary table view

  • Interactive stamping column
  • The set of widgets that can be implemented should probably be proposed by the Apps team

Detail view

  • Standard filling it out forms
  • Attribute mapping for "stamped" items
  • Hidden email for "stamped" items
  • [OI] What sharing workflows will we accomodate?

Still to come

  • Entering
  • Calendar views
  • Sharing
  • Queryview building
  • Contacts and helper windows
