All new items are notes

At any time, users can do one or more of the following with a note:

  • Send them as messages
  • Schedule them on the Calendar
  • Keep track of them on the Taskpad
  • Maintain them as Notes

The item remains a single item that accumulates attributes everytime a user does a new thing to the item.

Workflow

The idea is to allow users to make decisions when they're ready to.

Users don't need to know any more than: I have something in my head that I need to get down onto my PIM.

Next, they can Triage this item:

  • Keep it in front of their face: Processing
  • Decide that it's Done or Archived or
  • Defer the item to come back later

Later on, they can return to the item for a second round and decide where to put it.

  • Send it out
  • Put it on the Calendar
  • Put it on the Taskpad
  • Just keep it a Note

Items can be put in more than one place.

The idea is that users don't need to know a priori, what Kind of an item they want. They can decide that as they go.
