PPD Meeting - Mon Feb 26th, 2007
Agenda
- Follow-up on Mimi's tasks, priorities
- Follow-up from Preview discussion
- Product naming - put together proposal
- Planning wiki area
- Review Edit/Update with Aparna?
Notes
- Mimi is feeling better about tasks priorities.
- Priscilla - still catching up on planning stuff for Preview.
- Preview meeting
- Priscilla still worried about date and expectations.
- If everyone had a better high-level sense of status we might mitigate some of these worries.
- Mimi - good time for PPD or ops to put a date on where we are at of where we are on features and bugs.
- What features have we done, not done. What is tested, what is not tested.
- Line for what is good enough for Preview is not clear.
- Focus on where we are and then the end line is clearer.
- Features we are still working on.... * Cosmo
-
- Supporting new sharing EIM format - big and risky.
- Handful of calendar features - not as big and scary.
- Timezone work
- Unknown ???
- Dashboard - some table work (could be punted)
- Chandler
- Edit/update - risks around testing.
- Backup and restore.
- Conflict management UI.
- Sharing EIM format.
- Performance.
- There is really nothing we can cut with the exception of maybe Edit/Update but it may be more work to take it out.
- Proposal: High-level overview of where we are with EIM stuff. Who has work left, what are the dependencies. Where we are in getting feature freeze deadline.
- Proposal: Overview of where we are in getting to feature freeze in general
- Issue: Clarify the bar for Preview - what does this mean. What is good enough?
- Want people to try it out - using it the way we are dogfooding internally.
- Day to day usage - all the time vs periodically.
- Problems that are obvious - basic things I can't do something (bugs).
- Things we need to fix because they are confusing to the user - date column, communication status.
- Functionality that makes people's life easier - we can cut this stuff (nice to have).
- Performance.
- Clarify the finish line - it's not really moving. We just aren't very good at estimating the date.
- Planning wiki area - product section needs a bit of work. Priscilla will work on Cosmo stuff.
- Naming - send last call to the list
- Chandler Project - Suite
- Chandler Desktop
- Chandler Desktop as a platform
- Chandler Server Bundle - SNARF thing - rename it later
- Chandler Hub - hosted service
