SoC Students
Mid Term Presentations
As we did last year, we will have a common intern presentation extravaganza with the other KKIE groups (Creative Common, LPFI) this summer. After some negotiation to find a suitable time and format, here's the plan:
- Who: All OSAF interns and SoC students will present as well as CC (Creative Commons) interns. Mentors are highly encouraged to help their intern get this right.
- When: Thursday August 10th from noon to 2pm, lunch will be served (in Howard street that is...).
- Where: At the Howard street building in SF, in Whoville. For remote people, see here under...
- Remote folks: We will have the Conference Bridge of course as well as VNC. Please ask Philippe if you can't access those info and need them (SoC students in particular).
- How long: Each intern will have 5 minutes to present and demo whatever they've been working on. Considering the amount of interns we have this will require close to an hour total just for OSAF, IOW, we will be strict with time allocation per student! Think about it as a "lighting talk" for your project.
- Which Format: All slides will be in the S5 format (an XHTML/CSS/JavaScript format) and loaded on one unique machine so to avoid delay during presentation (pluging of machines) and allow a decent VNC experience for remote people. Please use the Slides Template and hack it using your favorite plain text editor. Please attach your slides (zipped so that I don't have to chase down pictures and the like...) in your project Wiki page and ping me (Philippe) and your mentor when done. I (Philippe) will be collating the slides to create a unique slide deck. The deadline for the slides is Tuesday August 8th.
- Demo: As for the slides, demos must be loaded on the same unique laptop. Please sync up with your mentor and myself (Philippe) to see how this can be done (especially if you have special platform needs).
List of Internship Positions
All internship positions are now filled. This list is there for archive purposes:
For the Summer of Code, interns are participating remotely as any other Open Source contributor to the project so the management burden should be nill (or, at least, no more than managing any other external contributor...).
Subjects
All the subjects are currently listed on
