QA Engineer Intern

For the summer of 2007, the Open Source Applications Foundation (OSAF) is seeking Software Engineer Interns for its Quality Assurance team.

This job requires working with QA, Release and Development teams to investigate, report and track defects, analyze the results and expand the test framework and automated test suites. You will also be responsible for some QA and Release web tools. The test framework and test suites are developed in Python, web tools in Perl.

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with test harnesses or test tools a plus
  • Experience installing and maintaining web servers and web applications a plus
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Cross-platform development experience a plus
  • Open source experience a plus

Other Requirements:

  • Computer Science students enrolled in a 4 years program. Junior and Senior prefered for dev positions though we are open to talented candidate of different background
  • Legal right to work in the US (for motivated foreign candidates, OSAF might consider sponsoring one J1 candidate through the CIEE, only candidates with outstanding skills will be considered)
  • 3 months minimum
  • Must be able to work locally at OSAF's San Francisco office
