IT Sysadmin Intern
For the summer of 2007, the Open Source Applications Foundation (OSAF) is seeking a Systems Administrator Intern for its Information Technology team. OSAF is building free desktop and web-based PIM (personal information management) software focused on sharing and collaboration. The work will be project-oriented and focused on improving the reliability and scaling of developer and community tools.
Example projects include: learn/install/configure new network or web appliciations, update developer tools to the latest versions, install new machines, write shell scripts, write web-based tools, perform system benchmarking, inventory servers. Technologies include: Linux (Debian/Fedora), Apache, Postfix, python, Java, bugzilla, subversion, Nagios, TWiki.

Technical Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of computer system architecture (operating systems, processes, networking, etc) is required.
- Experience with the installation and administration of Linux servers and applications and use of the Unix command line is required.
- Some scripting experience (bash, python, perl) is desirable.
- Able to perform IT project specification and implementation as directed.
- Experience participating in open source projects is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Computer Science students enrolled in a 4 year program
- Legal right to work in the US
- 3 months minimum
- Available to work on-site in SF office for majority of time
