This email serves as as a notice that we are providing open source
software that includes encryption capabilities, including SSL, as part
of the Chandler Personal Information Manager software. You can find the
source here: http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/GettingChandler
You can find additional information about the cryptography in Chandler
in here: http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/SecurityFramework
In short, we intend to use 3rd party open source cryptography package
OpenSSL (http://www.openssl.org/) to do all the low level cryptographic
operations, and use M2Crypto (http://sandbox.rulemaker.net/ngps/m2/) to
provide a higher level wrapper/API to the OpenSSL functionality. Other
3rd party packages that will be part of Chandler may contain
cryptographic source code but we do not intend to use those parts. In
any case, all the source code, including 3rd party code, that we build
into Chandler is available from our site.
We use the public dev@osafoundation.org mailinglist to discuss source
code. Checkins to the source archive can be monitored by watching the
commits mailinglist. Subscription and archives to the mailinglists are
available at http://www.osafoundation.org/mailing_lists.htm
