Basics

  • Ability to keep track of Read/Unread status

Sharing with yourself is not the same as sharing with others

  • Dashboard, In, Out and Trash should be mirrored as opposed to showing up as additional shared collections in Cosmo UI
  • Ability to share Triage status, communication status, event status, and alarms with yourself but not others

Discoverability

  • Understanding what you need to do to get your data into Cosmo UI
    • When signing up for an account on Cosmo, Chandler users should be asked if they would like to access all or some subset their Chandler data on the web.
    • Auto-subscribe to Chandler subscriptions in Cosmo.

Special Chandler behaviors

  • Auto-triaging behaviors
  • Recurrence behaviors
  • Smart Who and Date columns that match Chandlers'
  • Remove versus Delete and Trash

Nice to haves

User Profile and Preferences

  • Account information
  • Time zone settings
  • Displaying the correct default email addresses in the byline
  • Collection colors
  • Collection order
  • Never share-ness
  • Mine / Not-mine

What if Cosmo only supported events

If there were only events, the list above would be pretty much the same because people would just scale down their expectations for Cosmo UI and treat it purely as a calendar.

The main difference is that 'Cosmo as just a calendar' will be compelling for a smaller set of users.

Adding to the list: What's the different between the CC and Consultative user?

Some dogfood feedback:

A CC might miss the 'email this event' text link at the top of the event details to inform the owner of the calendar that they just put an event on their calendar. Understandably the 'email this event' link is an easy work around for stamping currently.

The feedback is that CC might need a pop up dialog to display a message such as 'email this event', after the user has clicked save. The scenario of a CC is that they would not know anything about the Chandler 'system' and just putting this one event on someone else's calendar.

For a the consultative user, this pop up dialog may be quite annoying every time they put an event on their own calendar. If there were a dialog pop up, we may have to have a check box to 'never show this reminder again' for the consultative user.
