Robin DunnDo a SWIG modification that will assist in autogenerating wxPython class reference documentation. Completedclean up the new patch and get it submitted too.Done
Robin DunnChange wxMenu such that the menu item is returned from the methods that add an item to the menu. Also fix things so that if an ID of -1 is used then a new ID will be generated just like is done for the window classes.CompletedTry to get the -1 --> generated ID code approved.Done
Robin DunnContinue testing and fixing problems with the new wxPython.CompletedContinue testing and fixing problems with the new wxPython.Ongoing, but I am going to mark this as completed as most of the known things left are just small tweaks and such.
Robin DunnSubmit proposals for wxPython related presentations at OSCONCompletedSubmit proposals for wxPython related presentations at OSCONDone
Robin DunnUpdate the Scintilla used by the wxStyledTextCtrl to the latest versionCompleted Done. Now using version 1.58
Robin DunnwxMSW does not allow Shift-Tab to be captured by KEY or CHAR events, even if the wxWANTS_CHARS style is used. If the window is within a control container (wxPanel, etc.) then it is always used as a navigation key.CompletedSee if there is a way to make the change and still keep everybody happy.Attempted a better fix but gave up when I ended up breaking more than I fixed. Asked Vadim to look at it again. I did check in the change that allows key events for Shift-Tab.
Robin DunnWork on tools to extract the docstrings and detatiled docs from the SWIG XML output and put it into a simplified format that can be used for creating online HTML (or other formats) for wxPython reference documentation. In progressWrite a tool (coordinating with community volunteers) that uses the new XML format to build input for a standard Python documenter tool.

Decide which markup format should be used (evaluate ReST? and epydoc formats.)
no progress this week.
Robin DunnAdd wxDC::GetPartialTextExtents that returns the distance from the begining of the text to each character in the string usign native APIs. This is sorely needed on OSX in order to get rid of the "slugishness" of the wxStyledTextCtrlIn progress Created a generic implementation for the wxDCBase class and have implemented the Win32 version. Tried to implement it on OSX as well but the MeasureText? API does not seem to use the fractional widths of the AA fonts and so layout gets screwed up. Stefan has pointed me to the ATSUI family of API funcitons and so I'll try to implement it using that next week.
Robin DunnChapter reivews and editing for the wxPython book. In progressChapter reivews and editing for the wxPython book. First draft f chapter 5 is ready for review.Only got part way through the chapter
