Building Chandler with MS Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition

See Bug:5671.

Assumptions:

• You do not have any versions of Visual Studio installed.

Prerequisites:

• Download and install MS Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/
• Download and install Microsoft ® Windows Server® 2003 R2 Platform SDK http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0BAF2B35-C656-4969-ACE8-E4C0C0716ADB&displaylang=en
• Set up VC++ to use the SDK: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/usingpsdk/
• Download and install MASM compiler: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7A1C9DA0-0510-44A2-B042-7EF370530C64&displaylang=en

Get the source:

• svn co svn+ssh://svn.osafoundation.org/svn/chandler/branches/vcexpress2005

Build:

• cd external
• export BUILD_ROOT=`pwd`
• make compilers
• make world DEBUG=1
