Status updates

PPD team

• Still moving forward with product roadmap
• Chandler planning: Alpha 5/6 first steps available
• Design: Some Cosmo UI, mostly Alpha 5

Desktop

• 2 weeks from feature freeze
• Focusing on dashboard
• wx: Starting a project with with wx community, to introduce transparancy to codebase. Will be hosted at OSAF.
• Interns: SoC^? ended last week, other interns coming to a close

Hosted service

• Progress
  • Virtual machine server about ready; has been used in recent testing
  • No new events in email & support areas
• Plans
  • Move new VM server to colocation provider
  • Testing Hibernate branch of Cosmo on MySQL^?
  • osaf.us to be rolled out in Chandler, sites
  • Stalled on a future Cosmo milestone release: backups, clustering

Cosmo

• Almost done with integrating Hibernate
• Bobby did initial performance measurements
• Hibernate is about 10x faster for tests run thus far
• Determining dates for 0.5 release, which includes Hibernate work

Community

• There's a private mailing list for people who are interesting in PR stuff and press hits. Recent examples include wired article, WWDC conference, etc.

Milestone numbering

• All projects shooting for March release that people outside OSAF can use. We're all committed to balancing features, timelines, etc to meet that goal.
• March release likely to be called "Preview".

Personnel changes

• Lisa Dusseault is leaving OSAF to join CommerceNet^?
