OSAF Staff Meeting April 20, 2006

Agenda

  • project updates
  • sprint week

Notes

  • Chandler update -- Philippe
    • look at ChandlerBugsGraphs for graphs of open bugs and bug find/fix rates
    • alpha2 slipped by two weeks due to wx tarball issues
      • John: tarball is ready to roll, one bug left that is not blocking
    • Chandler developers: help fix remaining alpha2 bugs, help write functional tests if you have met your deadlines already
    • Mitch: are we expecting internal dogfooders to switch to alpha2?
      • Katie: yes, that is the current plan. The release should be stable, but it might be slow. If it is too slow, or if we have some unexpected bug or problem, then we'll have to go back to 0.6.1, but the plan of record is to move people to alpha2.
    • Greg and Freada are now set up using Chandler (0.6.1), so Mitch is now able to coordinate calendars with Freada. This is a great milestone! Getting this use case to work is one of the original motivations for OSAF.
  • Cosmo update -- John
    • working on 0.4 plan, will take proposal to the list soon
  • Scooby update -- John
  • PPD update -- Sheila
    • alpha3 planning in progress, should have a presentation in a few weeks
    • chandler dogfood bugs need to be prioritized
    • also working on product plan and competitive analysis
  • Community update -- Ted
    • the portal project is the main focus right now
    • google is doing summer of code again, and we're going to try and do some projects with that program
  • core sprint week is May 8 - 12
    • Testing is going to be a major focus -- writing automated tests, etc.
    • One of the goals is to have some cross project collaboration
      • Sharing format discussions
      • End to end testing
    • John and Matthew will be at Ajax experience Thursday and Friday
    • Sheila will be at CSG Wednesday and Tuesday
    • Grant: are these going to be on the office calendar?
      • Katie: I'm going to create a sprint calendar to track the events
  • Foxmarks update -- Mitch
    • Foxmarks was put on the list of add-ons on the Firefox site
    • Many more users, no corresponding upswing in support requests
    • Cosmo is acting as a true production server now
