October 30 -- All Hands
I. Michael Toy will leave at the end of the year to pursue a separate opportunity. We wish Michael well. Not much change on a daily basis right now as Michael will be here for a while yet. We'll look at new candidates, it's critical that we find someone who wants to do engineering management -- releases, decision-making, etc.
II. Productivity. Mitch raised the topic of continuing to work on OSAF productivity. We've been trying to fix this and have made some progress but haven't really figured it out yet.
III. Other hiring -- we expect to start talking with a few people shortly.
IV. Public Status Reports -- some people are posting publicly now -- Brian, Ducky, John as examples, without real problems. Anyone who is comfortable making their weekly status report public should do so. Noted that we are doing this in transparency, not necessarily to start a lot of discussion on particular items. We want to encourage people to write good status reports, not to edit so as to avoid discussion.
V. Upcoming Milestone
There is a milestone the week of Nov.3. Builds are being done now. Looking at Bugzilla, there are people who have more than 2 weeks of work remaining before next week. Michael to talk with each person to see if their bug list reflects the work that needs to be done, and if the time estimates are accurate.
