Design questions for Engineering

Setting up and accessing shares

  1. Is everyone still going to be on the same WebDAV account in Kibble?
  2. Can users who don't have an account on the sharer's WebDAV server atleast share collections read only?
  3. Can we transport sharing invitations via WebDAV?
  4. How do we match email addresses with user accounts?
  5. What happens when Chandler users who don't have accounts on the sharer's server receive a sharing invitation?
  6. How do non-Chandler users deal with sharing invitations? Same?

Filtered shares

  1. How do we present sharing "portions" of a collection? (ie. checkboxes)
  2. How do we explain the difference between sharing, import/export and PDA syncing to users?

Widgets

  1. What addressing widgets are available to us so users can:
    • Add new invitees and distinguish them from old ones
    • Remove old invitees
    • Edit old invitees and make them new again (ie. change/correct an email address)
    • Present status on sharees
    • Match sharee addresses against an enormous list of users with accounts on the same server(s)

Proposals

  • Select potential sharees from a list of users on your WebDAV server(s) and transport sharing invitations via WebDAV?
