Question of the day: What should the focus be for the next release of Cosmo?
- bcm: UI work, client needs, free/busy stuff. (creating empty calendar and importing .ics files)
- ted: RSS talking to iCal, getting data in and out. - getting the office calendar to work. (iCal wouldn't accept query based url) ~ consider a ticket URL that contains the ticketID in the path.
- bobby: RSS stuff (i.e. RSS feeds for the next two weeks)
- jared: interop would be a good start (get mindshare with other clients), non code deliverables on releases, things like quotas, etc. Think about the areas and try to move each of them forward in each release. Think about the install-ability and operations aspects. Spikes: Operations, Usability, and Interop and Scability/Testing/Performance. Backups too.
- Todd: confirm email for the reg process (going to be 0.3.. got dropped), custom app development.
- Mikeal - baseline performance and measure it regularly.
Action items from question of the day discussion:
- file enhancement: ticket URL that contains the ticketID in the path, not parameters (towns)
- We need a real interopt testing plan for multiple clients. (Ted: PPD should come up with list of clients and what level of interop we support from these clients. (towns)
- PPD should take RSS usecase and concept of notification and flush it out with a feature set. (towns)
- Configuration of the App needs to have a programatic API in addition to the GUI. (file bug - towns)
Cosmo 0.3
- migration tool: 3 small things left, couple of hours of work. Then ready for testing against real respository. (open issue: how to verify migration) ~ 90% confident.. code complete tomorrow.
- Multiple PUTs will crash the browser. (bkirsh looking at it)
- PUTs take a really long time.
- Consider donating funds to iCal4j developer (Ben Fortuna)
- Issue of memory defaults for server
- Need to do performance analysis to indicate what the right settings should be.
- Consider adding warning to startup scripts when memory usage is configured too low.
Cosmo 0.4
- What are the action items for planning?
- Get discussion started on the list (towns)
- bcm and towns to meet with Lisa next week to get her thoughts on 0.4 (towns)
