QA Meeting Notes Oct 11, 2007

Agenda

• Windmill 0.2 Status
  • Windmill 0.2 ready to be bundled for distribution. We won't have binaries or installable tar files because we don't package python. But the instructions are well documented. People need to install Python 2.5 and setuptools and should be good to go.
• Windmill and tinderbox integration
  • So far haven't heard any complaints from bear so seems like nothing is blocking from QA.
• Item generator tool
  • Most of the functionality is ready except alarms and recurrences. Most of Dan's time is spent on working on this.
• Desktop 0.7.1 and 0.7.2
  • Desktop 0.7.1 was releases yesterday. Work in progress for 0.7.2
• Cosmo 0.7.4, 0.7.5 and 0.8
  • Cosmo 0.7.4 was released yesterday to Hub
  • Cosmo 0.7.5 is being cooked today because of a critical regression caught last nite by amwt. It basically includes reverting the fix for bug 10527.
  • Cosmo 0.8 rc2 will be cooked today with 4 additional fixes :

    • Bug 11018
    • Bug 11021
    • Bug 11029
  • Key discussion around how to maximise test development during shorter release cycles. Aparna to send the proposal discussed with Mikeal on the cosmo dev list.
• Record Scripting - Dan and Aparna met with John on Tuesday. John is still working on porting the existing test cases over to the new framework.
• Bay piggies presentation
  • The presentation and demo are today. The goal : user adoption.
• setup scripts for qacosmo v/s tinderboxes v/s Hub
  • Seems like the simplest goal is for us to use Jared's script that can duplicate VMs by a single push button switch which exactly simulates what we have on Hub. So effectively what we are testing is the same setup Hub is on.

  • Acceptance testing of 0.7.1-RC1

• Adam
  • Verified 0.7.3, 0.7.4 twice
  • Iterated on issues blocking the windmill unit tests
  • Fixed an IE specific regression in the windmill IDE
  • Reformatted and commented a lot of my windmill code preparing for the release
  • Started work on the windmill interactive tutorial
  • Reworked a lot of the windmill logic having to do with loading pages, waits and when test runs begin
  • Started in on writing javascript tests to automate recurring event verification in the Cosmo cal UI

• Mikeal
  • Read through bcm's documentation on all the new cosmo features, webdav, caldav and acl work.
  • Did some lightning and Sunbird interop testing about bcm's test server. Worked through a few bugs with ctalbert from mozilla calendar-qa
  • Added some features to functest to help with cosmo protocol tests.
  • Got on ohloh.net to network and improve evangelism.
  • Added windmill Safari launcher
  • Moved around the windmill bin code to help with bear's cygwin issues.
  • Added RunningTests^? documentation for windmill
  • Got windmill RC2 in the python cheeseshop
  • Submitted presentation for windmill talk at baypiggies
  • Improved windmill install page, jacob helped as a volunteer
  • Improved winmill's in code documentation
  • In the process of migrating windmill's half broken python test framework to functest.

• Aparna
  • Desktop 0.7.1 testing and bug verification
  • Planning for 0.7.2 release
  • Cosmo 0.7.4 bug verification
  • Responding to threads on both the dev lists with QA perspectives on topics
