QA Meeting Notes Sept 20, 2007

Agenda

  • JS Unit test framework with Windmill integration
    • This is done. Matt and Adam have been running it. Matt is writing the wiki page about the JS tests.
  • Windmill and tinderbox integration
    • This is work in progress. Tbox hangs on FF are being investigated. IE hangs have been resolved. Bear monitoring the boxes. Bear will send something to the list once this all working without hiccups. As soon as this tbox bug is fixed we should spin a windmill 0.2 release.
  • Item generator tool
    • This is work in progress. The goal is to have atleast some kind of items to be generated by end of the week.
  • Desktop 0.7.1 bugs
    • Aparna will review the PPD list and the open 0.7.1 bugs and see if QA has any nominations.
  • Record/scripting * John is still working on this. He should have some of the functional tests recorded using the new framework by end of the week.
  • on-site week and meetings
    • wiki page with some help and sample tests. Adam in charge of writing up the windmill tests.
  • Windmill testing sprint and documentation
    • After 0.2, do binaries, do documentation, get started guide.
  • Bay piggies presentation
    • Thu of the last week of Oct is the scheduled windmill presentation.
  • culture of open communication on mailing lists
    • Dan to put up a wiki page about Item generator tool after it is a bit more developed.
    • More and more windmill communication should happen on the list. We will prepend the title of the message with [Windmill] so it clearly stands out what this is about.
  • vacation plans
    • Everyone update their vacation calendar on the QA page with their time off.

Status of team members

  • Dan
    • Creating a item generator tool to create datasets containing any possible combination of items
    • Weekly checkpoint testing
    • Monitoring of Chandler bug reports

  • Adam
    • Retooled the architecture of the Windmill IDE, we now load the testing app in it's own window.
    • Enhanced the Windmill DOM explorer and finished the Assertions Explorer allowing for quick test writing in the IDE.
    • Began work to integrate Javascript Unit testing into my release workflow.
    • Continued investigation in to the service timeouts we are seeing now only on the Firefox Tbox.
    • Brought the Windmill tests up to date in the trunk and 0.7.3.
    • Continued work to add more validation and assertions to the existing Cosmo test coverage.

  • Aparna
    • Restructured QA wiki area to coalesce information into relevant groupings.
    • Going over Desktop 0.7.1 bugs and determining the priorities of the ones that affect QA
    • Start reviewing existing functional tests that should be ported over to the new framework.
    • Modify Chandler Acceptance tests to make them shorter and quicker to execute (yet to start)
