Notes

Milestones/Status/Updates

  • Production hardware up at colo
  • Desktop feature freeze on track for today
  • Terms of service is back on track and Jared meeting with the lawyers about this
  • Sheila will update preview page and calendar when desktop feature freeze checkpoint is ready

Cosmo integration

  • Developers are still testing interop
  • One week of testing after feature freeze
  • QA has gotten started but ran into issues so they will wait for the developer QA period
  • Are we updating QA Cosmo - what is the process?
  • We are updating it as soon as we get a new fix - with a new checkpoint - on demand.
  • Adam is making requests to Bear.
  • We need this updated (QACosmo) for the testing

Logos

  • 3 logos sent to Mitch for review.
  • Once he responds we will keep iterating on the one concept.
  • This is about picking the concept.
  • We will fill out the time that's available.
  • Two weeks to iterate on logos - getting logos for all the platforms, wiki, doc bar.
  • Pieter - does this include fonts, palettes for logos etc.
  • Mimi - we weren't going to do a full branding look and feel for Preview.
  • Depending on the logo we may need to tweak the wiki pages and landing pages that we have today.
  • Next Actions: Pieter - will find out what we need to do the trademark search.
  • Ted - once we pick the logo - do we have everything that we need to reskin the app?
  • Milestone - final artwork necessary to reskin the apps - May 14th.

Website technologies

  • Pieter sent out an email to the design list. He looked at all the content we currently have.
  • Looked at what our requirements are.
  • Pieter has made a recommendation.
  • How do we stage stuff if we are putting it on the wiki? Is it that important to have a flip-switch launch moment?
  • Mimi - can we add "page under construction"
  • Jared - some inclination from the group to make our release process private.
  • Next Actions
    • Put the technologies recommendation in a proposal (Jared)
    • Then a conversation about which pages are decorated etc (Jared and Pieter)
    • Staging issue - have a discussion on the PR (Pieter)
  • Timing - moving wiki to chandlerproject.org - maybe in next couple of weeks
    • Possible broken links
    • Plan to keep the robots from indexing all copies of the sites
    • What would be at the home page - projects/webhome? Sure.
  • Screencasts hosted on utube - you should be able to embed those without marketing ads around them
    • resolution is also an open issue
    • Mimi - try to tie in the screencasts to end-user documentation survey - prioritize the screencasts
    • We can do this on the users list
    • Next Actions: Pieter will draft a list of those

Position statements

  • Mimi had a look at Pieter's wiki page
  • Wasn't sure what the process proposal was and how it links back to the last set of work we did.
  • Pieter - intent was to get specific position statements - text we need for a variety of places
  • Can we prioritize those based on the end-user documentation? ie: title of the web page
  • Pieter has a working list of statements that we need to have for Preview.
  • We will add some of the stuff that came up in the wiki gardening session.
  • Worth to identify a handful that we should start on first.
  • Pieter will identify the top 3 that we should get working on - just to get us started if we are working as a group.
  • Should we send stuff to the list OR assign them to people.
  • What is the status of the last discussion we had - we all filled out this page (target user position statements).
  • Next Actions
    • Expand the list - add wiki gardening items
    • Assign a list of position statements and people to write them
