The idea on this wiki page is that everyone can post their personal experiences regarding Preferences. The more experiences we can collect the better! Feel free to post!

Daniel´s

To tell you the truth, I never though about it. I think I am more in the line of Grant than towards Philippe, though I see everyones point and think that all of them are indeed right from their own and also mine perspective.

I start to fiddle with the preference pannel only when I find myself doing something repetitively that should be able to change in a preference panel. Only then I look at it, and try to find it under the preference menu item.

This is the time when Philippes´ experience comes to mind. Frustration for not finding that preference I am looking for, but since I will do it only once (at least that´s what I believe) I cope with the burden.

Being a user of different and varied programs, I find that some excel over others, but none are that pleasure to make me go time and time again. Although I would like to feel the elevated experience of Grant, personaly I tweak the interface to make me more productive in using a program.
