• Jared presented us with information he learned when talking to lawyers about the hosted service
  • Privacy policy needed, can be held liable if breached
  • Terms of service (tos)
    • due to anonymous users, need tos links on all pages
    • agree to tos checkbox needed during signup
    • service can qualify for safe harbor (=not liable for user content) since we don't police users or their content
    • 3 provisions: dmca, copa, eu
    • copa: plan is to put notice to tos that the service is not intended to be used by people under 13
    • eu: the plan is to put a notice in tos explaining that using the service subjects users to US laws
      • the issue is with eu data retention laws etc which are more onerous than US laws
  • special procedures needed to prevent child porn distribution

• Mitch's role: expect for him to be a little more visible, will be at next all hands

• Off-site mtg after Preview? probably

• Decided not to summarize general list at the moment

• Katie to send email to general & users to get private feedback comments, will summarize publicly
