Attending: Jared, Mitch, Heikki, John, Sheila, Ted (Katie and Lisa are on vacation)
Scooby/Cosmo Hiring
John gives update on hiring. We have a number of candidates in the pipeline in various stages. The state can be viewed at
https://wiki.kkie.us/bin/view/OSAF/OsafHiringProgress
Cosmo Sprint Week
Priscilla organizing events for Sprint Week (social events)
Should we include everyone in these events?
Games night everyone, Dinner: just the people in the sprint
Schwag (T-Shirts, Hats, etc.)
Hats on order. (Hats for everyone)
Mitch quotes Wayne's World about Schwag
Hand out next thursday at lunch
WWDC
Session started at 10:30am
Jeffrey and Grant are demoing during the session.
iCal Server is only included with Leopard Server release.
ACL's are supported
includes over 500 unit test cases for CalDAV. Could be used to help with QA for Cosmo.
Will it be used with .Mac? Not sure.
Performance is about the same as Cosmo.. not db, using FileSystem.
To Do Lists
TextControl
?
seems to support turning text into system wide todo.
Similar in initial impression to stamping.
Interesting thing: validating some of our ideas. (slight net positive)
Still no one is doing a cross-platform open solution.
What is Apple's level of commitment to building an open source community
Unclear at this point. We'll have to see what they do.
One note: what level of CalDAV support does iCal now require?
Similar ideas are floating around in the industry and stamping is getting validation.
The TODO System API could be useful for Chandler Integration.
Release Management
We'll defer this one week to let Philippe get involved.
Wikipedia Conference
Mitch gave a brief update on the Wikipedia conference.
Tools continue to evolve to deal with vandalism and maintaining the wikipedia.
Community continues to evolve and grow.
John mentioned the write up of wikipedia in the book "The Long Tail" (by the editor of Wired)
