Scooby Meeting Notes - April 5th 2006

Agenda:

• Question du jour: What kind of conferences would the team be interested in promoting Scooby at? Should some of the releases goals focus on conference schedules? Or just keep it in the back of your mind...
• Official Scooby 0.2 kick off date: April 10th, 2006 Any questions?
• What's going on with Cosmo 0.3?
• Briefly discuss event lozenge shapes
• Update on Scooby landing page. Cosmo/Scooby logos and the branding effort. (See status below)
• From the FRM of the 0.2 'ins', the rest of today's meeting be cutting the Scooby 0.2 feature set for a more realistic time based release.

Further Scooby 0.2 planning:

• Talk about 'theme' for each release, ie. 0.2 is about navigation, 0.3 is about timezones, etc.
• Update on the Scooby stickie plan.

What kind of conferences would the team be interested in promoting Scooby at?

• Web 2.0
• Developer oriented focused conferences:
  • European Apache (May/June)
  • O'Reilly (August?)
  • Appache US later this fall (no dates set?)
  • E-tech for next year
  • The Ajax Experience - Maybe something informal at BOF? Java all stuff no fluff. (Matthew and Pieter to work out a BOF offline)

What's going on with Cosmo 0.3?

• QA tomorrow, staff meeting tomorrow, migration tool and hand off to QA, for acceptance testing tomorrow
• There has been a few bugs, Mikeal has been testing.
• The only thing influence, is testing w/ chandler, a few that needs to be fixed.
• Cosmo/chandler/scooby bugs, QA team
• Katie will send an e-mail migration - what is the design for 0.6, the sharing format ppl will have to start over?

Next steps for event lozenge shapes

• Mimi & Priscilla to investigate design variations, prototype in Scooby releases. May need isolate where event displays begins and ends

Matthew

• Worked on fixes for multi-day event blocks that start and end outside the viewable date range.
• Implemented event overlap for timed events.

Bobby

• Started work on 0.2
  • Completed Display Names bug
  • Working on Backend for Preferences

Pieter

• Have worked through the infrastructure setup stage and have the framework (copied from the Chandler landing page) committed to svn and commits notifications working on www-commits- maillist.
• This week I will have placed all the content folks have prepared and listed on: ScoobyLandingPage^? into the framework so if you have updates to the info on the wiki table, please add them soon.
  • Mde need like to the JavaScript Libraries content.
• I have requested IT setup a staging server for the site so we can see and discuss the organization and presentation of the content and see what needs to be changed or added.
• Still waiting for a "demo" link to test.
