• Completed GUI testing of libxml2 upgrade (bug 1371)
  • resolved launch problem in Windows by fresh rebuild of binaries
  • checked-in changes to chandler/Makefile
  • made announcement to Dev list

• Working on swig-compile-on-Windows (bug 1476)
  • reworked external/swig/Makefile so that it expanded tarball
  • discovered there was no configure; need to do autogen.sh to run automake
  • discovered that autogen.sh never runs to completion on haleakala

• Working on drv_libxml2.py (bug 1538)
  • backed out previous patch which removed that file from build
  • added in Morgen's later patch to drv_libxml2.py

2004-06-22

• (Got a late start due to illness previous evening & during night)
• Made some progress last night preparing swig for build on Windows
  • editing Makefile to duplicate posix method in Cygwin
• Finalizing launch of libxml2-updated chandler (use GUI)
  • Launches & works OK on Linux
  • Launches & works OK on Mac OS X
  • Need to finish build on Windows
• Discovered an error we had missed on libxml2 Makefile:
  • apply target depends on "patches" (old file)
  • apply target commands now use patches-$(VERSION)
  • failed to build (built in work area due to presence of old file)
• Discovered sources-0.3-8.tar was containing old libxml2 source tarball (2.6.3 version)
  • rebuilt sources-0.3-8.tar and uploaded
  • Need to post notice on Dev
• Building 0.3-9 (new swig) on oahu in /home/markie/work-0.3-9)

2004-06-21

• Final checks on requirements for libxml2 upgrade (bug 1371)
  • Updated patch file to correct state
  • Checkins (missed bug # and "r=heikki" in commit message; repaired with cvs admin)
  • Andi pointed out the drv_libxml2.py file needs to be added to the manifest

• Double-checking launch of chandler in move-dir change (bug 1452)
  • Windows did not start

• Picked up check-in of openssl Makefile fix for linux, rebuilt binaries with shared libs (oahu /home/builder/work)
• confirm builds of 0.3-8 binaries (add libxml2-2.6.10)

Beginning this journal as a way of keeping track of issues & tasks. This past week was marred by a flawed 0.3.18 Milestone, and subsequent tinderbox test failures from premature checkins.
