Projects are a flavor of Task:

  • Project
  • Needs reply
  • Need to read
  • Need to file
  • Chores
  • Errands
  • @Contexts: @Work, @Home, @Supermarket, @Calls, @People

People often confuse projects with tasks. So it should be easy to move between the two.

Task views: Show in task view or Project view (similar to Thread view for email)

Workflow

  • Designate a task a project
  • Start typing up project plan in notes field of item
  • Any tasks created are added to a cluster attached to the Project
  • You can link tasks together that have dependency relationships (ie. I need to do A before I can do B)

Slice task threads by People

  • View tasks by People (ie. Jed's tasks)
  • For each of Jed's tasks, he can open up the task cluster around his task to see the project that the task is a part of...
    • Jed: Hook-in mini-calendar is dependent on John: Hook in Sidebar and is blocking Katie: Hook in calendar navigation.
    • Jed can see Apps teams tasks that just apply to him, BUT he doesn't lose context of how his tasks fit into the bigger picture, how his tasks plug into the larger projects the Apps team and OSAF are trying to get done.
