Summary

This is a running list of all items in the 0.5 specs that DID NOT make it into 0.5. Most of them fit into the visual polish category or refer to functionality that does not directly prevent us from using the product but would simply enhance the experience.

Status

• The page has been updated based on final discussions with developers. Pending a few minor bugs that may not get fixed, this is a comprehensive list.

Next Steps

• Make sure these items are in the 0.6 and 0.7 specs.

Things not in 0.5

Calendar

• mini calendar
  • preview of events section.
    • Preview items in mini calendar reflect only confirmed events.
    • The preview area is only displayed if there are confirmed events, otherwise nothing is displayed.
    • If there are no events on this day, the area collapses.
  • Multiple month display.
• Multi-day events
• From the summary list view, click an event and jump to the detail view for this event - this automatically displays the calendar view for that day.
• Red bars for conflicting events (confirmed only). Only red for the overlap time period
• Selected item has drop shadow - on widgets list.

Sharing

• Collection sharing status icons in the sidebar tracked (sharer and sharee) - Downloaded, Uploaded, Error, Offline (P1).
• Removing a shared collection - sharer vs sharee.
• Filtered shares - sharing only the events for a particular collection.
• Display Created by...on... and Last modified by...on... information at the bottom (this was going to be on all detail views).

Sidebar

• Icons next to the OOTB collections in the sidebar.
• Text for All Collection depending on app bar item selected
  • All my items

• Text above appears in summary view tab.
• The specific icon appears to the left of the "All..." collection name - depending on app bar filter.

• Item Creation
  • a. When the user creates a new item from the New button or New menu item, Chandler jumps to the "All" app and "All my items" collection by either.
    • i. Selecting the All tab if it is already open.
    • ii. Opening up a new tab and loading it with the "All my items" collection in the "All" app.
  • b. If the user is in the Calendar app, they can create an item using in-place editing and are not forced to the "All" mode. For 0.5 only the calendar will have in-place editing.
  • c. User stamps a note as a mail then goes to Mail app "All my mail". The note is there, stamped as mail and note. (same behavior for stamping other kinds)
  • d. If the user has an Event which is also stamped as a Mail, unstamping it as a Mail will remove it from the Mail app for this collection.

• Collection Creation
  • • Double-click on white space in the sidebar.
    • By default the collection name is greyed out if there are not items in it. This is the same across all Apps.
    • If the user clicks on the Mail app and it has not items, something in the summary view is display indicting "no items of this type".
    • Add a mail item to the collection and the name in the sidebar will not be greyed out when we click on the Mail app or the All app.

• Dragging and dropping items into a kind specific tab automatically stamps them as this kind (logged as bug).

Widgets/UI Polish

• Integrate wxWidgets header into grid for summary table view.
• Improved flat toolbar buttons.
• Improved flat detail view mark-up bar buttons.
• Beveling improvements.
• No toolbar text on Mac bug.
• Fix tabs, UI and selected tab feedback, dnd onto tabs.

  • There should be visual feedback to distinguish 3 toolbar areas and associate them with the respective views, ootb and after resizing. Development will use some spacing/margins to acheive something for 0.5. Design and engineering will then iterate as appropriate.
