Higher Education Marketing Materials

Background

A request was made at the May 2004 Westwood Advisory Council meeting for some "marketing collateral" that could be used in the CSG and NITLE institutions to explain and promote:
  • OSAF
  • Chandler
  • Westwood
Some of this material exists but needs updating to reflect the evolution over the last year to year-and-a-half.

Audience

These materials should address a target audience of potential adopters:
  • Users (students, faculty, staff)
  • Decision makers
  • Administrators

In addition to higher education, this material could also serve as background information for interested general users, press & analysts, potential donors, etc. and be used by OSAF at public presentations.

Goals

Goals for the marketing materials. We may want to customize different marketing material to suit different goals. Having specific goals for the marketing materials, ensures that the content of the marketing communication will have a strong focus.

Examples of goals:

  1. For CSG CIOs to help talk about and evangelize Chandler and to justify their investment back to their stakeholders
  2. To attract and seek alpha/beta site candidates for Canoga
  3. To attract and seek student/faculty volunteers to contribute in usability or development

Format

The form for the materials could include:
  1. Wiki pages
  2. Html pages
  3. FAQs
  4. PowerPoint slides
  5. Documents (Word, pdf)
  6. Screenshot demos with narrative
  7. Talking head video
