Jakarta Slide

Today I thought I'd install Jakarta Slide on my Windows XP to work on WebDAV ACL stuff. Spent several hours so far, and it's not yet working.

I think this is how one is supposed to install Jakarta Slide:

  1. Install Apache 2:
  2. Install Java
  3. Install Slide 2.0 bundled with tomcat - 2.0 server Tomcat 5 bundle tar.gz

  • Seems like slide startup.bat starts a webserver itself, and cannot start if apache is already running. Maybe I don't need separate Apache?

You definitely don't want the separate Apache instance. Tomcat is configured out of the box to use its own HTTP listener. I've set up Slide twice now, both from the binary distribution and from source checked out of CVS, so if you wind up needing to use it in the future, I can give you a hand.
