Start-up Options for Chandler

Complementary to Chandler quits on launch or won't start in Troubleshoot Chandler.

1: Continue with normal startup

If you discard data in this way, you may then:

import from backup.chex
- Chandler Desktop will re-present the working environment that coincided with the most recent normal export (backup) at Quit time
- a __repository__ that is recreated in this way is coincidentally optimised (comparable to the periodic optimisation routine).

This type of restoration is limited to .tgz files.

binary_backup.tgz is typically older than backup.chex

If you do have a .chex (Chandler export) that is more recent than the .tgz you may:

prefer to discard and start afresh (see option 6 above) then import from the recent, good .chex
prefer to not restore from the older, good .tgz
