Desktop Release Meeting, Thursday October 11th 2007
Present: Grant, Philippe, Aparna, Heikki, Bear
Agenda
- 0.7.1: How did things work with last process? Should we change things?
- 0.7.2 and future releases: Review of the dates posted on the Milestones Schedule
- Frontloading and triage: should we change our way of loading releases and triaging so to give better visibility to all?
- Building branches: where are we with that project?
Notes
0.7.1
- No one blocked or left in a lurch during the last release cycle, went pretty well for all the actors
- No reason to change the process
0.7.2 and future dates
- Aparna, Bear, Philippe: prefers not to change the dates because of holidays, prefer to have less things in a release than slip a release
- Grant, Heikki: could see going either way
- Decision: stick with the timing as much as possible, reduce the scope of a release if needed
- Exception: we will adjust the dates for 0.7.4 and 0.7.5 so that we take Xmas into account (no date should fall between Xmas and New Years eve)
Triaging
Decision for the Bug Council
- Frontload with bugs at the beginning of the cycle then don't add to that during the cycle
- Do not to triage things in the current release during Bug Council unless it's a blocker (crash, data loss)
Build on branches
- Bear will have something to show Heikki by Monday
- Will be available to dev sometime next week
