Agenda

• 0.7alpha5 Progress : What happened this week. Progress, blocking issues.
• Preview Schedule: Engineering perspective, what's missing? what are the risks? how can we mitigate them?
• Performance: Are we ready to start the Perf fixing period? Is there anything (meeting, IRC discussion, checkpoint) we should be having to make sure we use that time efficiently?
• QA/Build: Heikki and Aparna to brief us on the recent QA/Build meeting
• Vista/Leopard: what do we do?

0.7alpha5 Progress

• EIMML: everything should land this week.
• Problem with Dump & Reload (handling inheritence correctly)
• Some other features will be later next week -> moving FC to Thursday
• Check the issue with subscriber sharing item (Morgen)

Preview Schedule

• Moving FC to Thursday
• We should check daily with devs, Philippe to send an email to the list

Performance

• Test data: Aparna waiting for Dump & Reload to land before sending an email around about data
• Process during the 3 perf weeks: assign cases to people, move the ball on the cases (profile, study, create bugs...)
• Focus on the perf bugs assigned to 0.7release
• Heikki to prep people on the list
• Make sure people share findings on the mailing list
• Move the "top 7 cases" to the top of the list on Tinderbox
• Dupe or modify some tests to differentiate between "first" time and "subsequent" times
• Dupe or modify some tests to measure with the Dashboard view on, rather than the Calendar view
• We should review and comment the Performance Project wiki
• We won't ship if we don't reach the "acceptable" values for all test cases. Need to make sure that those values are indeed acceptable and reachable. Reviewed them during the meeting.
• We'll use background color code for the absolute test values so that the bad cases in the table "jumps" at people more readily.

QA/Build

• Build working fine
• QA ditto
• Recorded script on Chandler, Windmill on Cosmo: both going live on Tinderbox this week or early next week
• After FC, we'll move to 2 checkpoint builds a week

Vista/Leopard

• KEI IT (Dave) needs to install a new licensing server for Vista licenses
• Vista: QA proposes to postpone the official certification post Preview (7.1)
• Leopard: will be less work but make the official vertification post Preview as well (7.1)
• We're still building PPC with Panther (10.3) and Intel with Tiger (10.4). This surfaces some bugs for Tiget users on PPC. We could create fat binaries but that's too much work for not much payoff. Consensus: not waste time on that, wait for Leopard to come out to revisit what we build on which platform.
