Chandler Engineering Meeting - December 7th, 2006

Alpha4

No other action

Alpha5 and Alpha6 timeline

  • Apps team SWAG: 40 days to get to alpha5 CC/FC, makes us hit mid february for CC/Feature complete, add 6 weeks for debug/stabilization to that and we get to end of March
  • Suggestion: cut alpha6 and do a cycle of pure debug/stabilization and performance
  • EIM will be finished by then
  • We need to get some stuff reeled in alpha5:
    • Dump and Reload
    • Installers
    • Other end game features might have to be migrated to alpha5
  • Take some cut/keep decision on big items:
    • Conflict management? *Edit/Update?
  • We need to get PPD input here (Sheila in vacation this week) before we make such a decision -> report the decision to Dec. 21st (next Eng meeting)
  • Concern with having one less cycle to make adjustment
  • Mitigation: we'll need to get people to test alpha5 checkpoint when we get to CC/FC
  • We need to be very clear on what CC/FC and the various milestones in the end game means

QA

  • QA taking some of Service QA responsibility
  • Basically will build a test plan
  • Goal is to build confidence in the servive
  • Won't do the QoS?

IRC Office Hours

  • We should dedicate 1 hour a week for collaborative testing
  • Will switch betweem Cosmo and Chandler
  • Take the weekly Wednesday 11am to noon since we don't have anything planned on that regular slot for the time being
