Chandler Engineering Meeting - November 16th, 2006

Alpha4

• Triage of untargetted bugs
• Found 1 blocking and moved 2 others to alpha4
• Need to fix those before doing a new checkpoint and wait another 2 days before RC
• Earliest RC then will be Tuesday

Alpha5 and Alpha6 timeline (15 min)

• Latest SWAG from Apps team shows 50 days of solid work before we get to Code Complete for alpha5
• That pushes alpha5 CC to the end of January for the Apps team
• On the Platform team, EIM won't be staged as initially planned, we'll go directly to the morse code plan. This makes EIM availability depending on Cosmo 0.6.
• What about splitting alpha5? This plan was only considered if we want to get Esther to try things out early. We don't think this is realistic now. It takes a lot of cycles from QA and Engineering to help her so we'd prefer to have her work on a very stable alpha4. This idea of a short alpha5 is then moot.
• What can we do to solidify the plan?
  • Need to proceed with implementation with EIM before a more solid plan can be presented.
  • Apps team done with the break down on Bugzilla and mapping with PPD plan so more bug scrubbing/prioritization is the way to go.
  • Having John working on evaluating Search.

Test plan (15 min)

• Aparna talk about what we have today, what's missing and how to get there.
• 0.6 had a test plan but it hasn't been updated since then.
• Aparna is planning to write one for alpha5. Will work with Mimi on getting up with scenarios.
