Chandler Engineering Meeting - November 9th, 2006

Agenda

  • 0.7alpha4 end game (10 min): are we confortable with the current plan? (sent to dev list yesterday)
  • 0.7alpha4 debrief (10 min): what did we learn? what should we improve?
  • 0.7alpha5 and 0.7alpha6 SWAG (10 min): Philippe to share preliminary count. Discussion on how we should prioritize will follow.
  • Cosmo sync (10 min): how much should the 2 plan sync up with each other? key interop features we should track?
  • Build and QA (10 min): what are the main projects in those groups that have dependencies or will impact Chandler/Cosmo Preview?

0.7alpha4 end game

  • End plan seems OK for all
  • Pieter has been discussing with Sheila and Philippe

0.7alpha4 debrief

  • Katie: Platform + Apps team would be useful, chance to talk as team
  • Have it Tuesday 2:30 to 4:00pm in lieu of Design meeting
  • Katie to run it

0.7alpha5 and 0.7alpha6 SWAG

  • Apps team early SWAG
  • Platform team mostly on EIM and sharing work. Interop should be separated, may be reduced.
  • We need to cut big stuff. e.g. Print, Search
  • We need a good amount on provision for perf
  • We need to start perf work now 'cause it may involve some architectural or risky changes
  • Sheila and Philippe to solidy the plan: list the big features with their cost

Cosmo sync

  • The sharing format is shaping the schedule
  • Need an integration period
  • Need a thorough test plan

Build and QA

  • OAF has been scrapped
  • Cosmo functional testing are still not there
  • Need to get a better plan from QA
  • Chandler, we can speed up the unit tests (refactoring to avoid loading CPIA, avoid recreating a repository for each test)
  • Functional tests: John will be working with Dan for a couple of weeks improving how those are created
  • wx: Robin will do a sync with 2.7.2 after alpha4
