Chandler Engineering Meeting - September 28th, 2006
Agenda
Alpha4 : We're still shy on 2 tasks (Bug#5304 on expando and Bug#2816 on French l10n). Lots of bugs to fix, manageable but the find rate is still high. Also plus we want to be dogfoodable. What does this all means? (Philippe - 15 min)
Alpha5 and beyond : Update on this (Philippe - 10 min)
Build : Heikki and Bear to update the group. What about the static IP and VNC issues? (Bear - 10 min)
Functional Tests : We had a meeting on this. Dan took notes. What's next? (Philippe, all - 10 min)
Release Management : Status on the release management doc. (Heikki - 5 min)
Minutes
Alpha4
l10n: need to get the decision on svn made. Heikki and Bear to make it happen.
expando: late, Reid and Bryan working on it.
bugs: worried about the merge bugs, apparently restore settings is involved, Katie and Sheila experiencing these and logging bugs daily. Those got fixed but more are coming every day.
Performance: some suggestions from Andy to improve indexing perf. Philippe to talk to Bryan about those.
Cosmo 0.5 will land on Oct 6th (feature freeze) but we won't have Chandler use this before alpha5
Need to file bugs on doc
Consensus: alpha4 RC Oct 17th
Alpha5 and beyond
Will the sharing format be able to land mid December? Unclear. PJE and Morgen working on this. Cosmo 0.6 will coordinate with them.
Notification, tagging/labelling are still vaguely specified so the estimates there are very coarse
Build
The Virtual machines are working, they have static IP, the VNC is on... The network is down right now...
We could get faster machines to have a better turnaround on Tinderboxes. G5s are the bottle neck though.
Philippe to check the budget for those.
Functional Tests
We should have a meeting. Let's review Dan's note during the next QA meeting (Monday) and come up with an action plan for Tinderboxes.
