Chandler Engineering Meeting - August 31st, 2006

Agenda

• Alpha4 : Let's check how we are doing against the schedule (Philippe - 10 min)
• Alpha5 and beyond : Discussion on what needs to happen to get to a better schedule (Philippe, Sheila - 10 min)
• Build : Heikki and Bear to update the group on virtualization (Bear - 10 min)
• Interns : Short update on who left, who has been extended, SoC^?, etc... (Philippe - 5 min)
• Release Management : Status on the release management doc. Also discussion on the recent list activity on milestone naming. (Heikki - 10 min)

Minutes

Alpha4

• Code freeze is Sept 19th.
• Things ok in the apps team, platform too.
• Modifying the prio in the Dashboard so we focus on the right thing in the coming weeks. Small tasks might end up pushed to alpha5.
• Stamping moving forward, might not translate into UI changes right now.
• Functional test model moved to the new model, perf tests will be ported next week.

Alpha5 and beyond

• Let's not use the 0.7beta in bugzilla, ask Heikki to suppress it from Bugzilla.
• Sheila meeting with people next week to tweak alpha5 workload.

Build

• Bear finishing the wx tinderboxes then implementing Heikki's workaround for the time issues on virtual machines

Interns

• What are we going to do with Ernesto's parcel? Ted may be will take that for alpha6. Action -> Philippe to ask Ted
• People considering that Feeds is part of the system? May be we should have those out of the end user binaries. They would be available as eggs for download. Action -> Philippe to move that discussion to the list.

Release Management

• Follow the developing discussion on the list
