Chandler Engineering Meeting - Thursday May 18th, 2006

Alpha2 RC update

Closing down on bugs. Trying to get it to happen Friday latest.

Intel Macs

We have issues to produce universal binaries because of gcj. That won't be solve in alpha3 or even 0.7. However, how much do we want to invest to fix issues when working in emulated mode (Rosetta)?

We think we need to support this config (Chandler PPC running on Intel) as a supported platform. That means we'll need a bunch of new machines to debug, test and run functional tests:

  • 2 Tinderbox machines (we really need the 2 when we'll build on Intel, we need 1 though to run the functional tests)
  • 1 machine for QA
  • 1 machine for devs

This is really just buying those machines earlier than what we planned anyway.

Timeframe: alpha3

Action: Philippe to buy machines

wx SVN and Build

Philippe to post the notes from the meeting we had over the Sprint week. Some work will need to be done by Bear, Robin and Philippe during the alpha3 timeframe.

Soc / BOSE / interns

  • SoC?: Google to make the final call on May 22nd
  • Interns: see Projects.IntershipPlan06
  • BOSE: we got 2 students, need to check their resume and find project for them if there's fit
