Milestone 4 this week

  • Critical apps bugs being worked on; estimated will be fixed by Wed night.

Bug model

  • P1 and P2 count is decreasing
  • However many P3s are really of unassigned priority
  • This gives us a very rough prediction of where we can hit feature freeze (assuming that people who are tracking their progress via bugzilla are the critical path and assuming that those people don't have non-bugzilla-tracked work)

Milestone 5 planning

  • The specs are full of micro details needed to complete the feature, and a careful review of spec vs. implementation will usually turn up a lot of discrepancies. Until we've dealt with those we're not really at feature complete.
  • We haven't really scheduled time for tweaking the UI. Does that take place during bug fix phase?
  • Some dev platform work would be cut off if we kept to our current Milestone 5 feature complete date.
  • We are considering adding another major milestone to achieve feature complete properly (as an alternative to making milestone 5 double-long, or to declaring a "not-really" feature complete)
  • What are the next actions? Basically more data gathering to be sure
    • Scope out tasks better in i18n, calendar service, item collection, trash and deletion -- put pieces together finally. Hold people to producing those task estimates. Katie and Lisa and Grant.
    • Bug review and triage. Aparna and Philippe and Sheila.
    • Schedule a meeting with Apps team to cover i18n. BrianK?. Maybe Monday? Katie will suggest scheduling.
