Notes from May 24

Subversion move

  • Some concerns about security discussed on dev list and elsewhere
  • Does each developer have to manually choose new account password?
  • Expect dev progress halting
  • May push back 0.5.03 (June 1 to Jun 2) without blame due to delay - can assess after SVN move

IT tasks

Wishlist items:

  • Services Task list (support queue) should be world-readable (Heikki)
  • Setup shared Linux machine for testing and development (Philippe, Katie)
  • Overdue Wiki changes e.g. cosmo area (lose the glossary area?)

0.6 dates

Katie asked for dates to be assigned for 0.6 milestones

Discussion of how much time to allocate for bug fixing in 0.6:

  • 0.5 was 7 weeks bug fixing
  • 0.4 was 3 weeks bug fixing (but we brutally triaged and postponed bugs, keeping a low standard)
  • 0.6: shoot for 5 weeks bug fixing? This is only realistic if we use the same quality bar as for 0.5 and do not raise that bar

Spec status review

  • Sharing: Morgen adding comments
  • Recurrence: Jeffrey promised revision very shortly
  • iCalendar: Lisa promised to review and produce a revision
  • Timezone: may expand to include ICU work and expand to cover how dates and times are handled
  • Item Collection: will Ted throw something at the wall soon?
  • CPIA Script: needs review
  • Accessibility: Plan or spec?
