Notes

• Schema migration
  • we don't want to branch, but do incremental patches as we have been doing.
  • The one big change is going to be the block parcels. We'll need to do some coordination with the apps team.
  • pje will send a note to dev about inconsistencies to fix, we want to get these before we do the migration (will make things easier)
  • pje is working on tools to help with the block migration
  • In the meantime, morgen, ted and katie will continue to do some migration by hand as this uncovers other problems.
• For item collection (and notification) work, the target is still that a first pass will be working by the next milestone.
• IRC office hours: PJE will take the next IRC office hours, to talk about schema api. The block migration should be done by that point, so we expect the conversation will be about next steps: what advantages we get with the new schema api, where we can go from here.
• Morgen asked about where the webserver parcels should go: framework or sandbox?
  • The infrastructure is to remain in the framework -- the dev platform team is committed to maintaining this (although we are not spending a lot of time on improvements in 0.6).
  • Morgen moved the web rss reader into the sandbox.
  • The web repository viewer should remain in the main tree.
  • Future work on the infrastructure: modify "servlets" to run in wsgi sandbox

  • Created "TestReactor" for Twisted unit tests
  • i18N discussions w/Brian Kirsch (translation workflow, data types, etc.)
  • Implemented log level fix for unit tests
  • Ongoing assistance w/schema API porting
  • Created 'schema_status' tool to show current porting status
  • Attempted port of osaf.framework.blocks; looks like it will have to port all-at-once
  • Preliminary design of code generator to partially automate migration
  • Finished cloud/endpoint support for schema API
