Desktop Team Meeting June 26th, 2007
Agenda
- Preview workload (10 min):
- July 16 is the code review deadline.
- Will announce checkin restrictions (e.g. requiring reviews/bugzilla bugs) in advance.
- Will ”announce” them on the Office Calendar, too (Reid’s suggestion).
- Some rebalancing has been going on; more to follow.
- Localization freeze July 9th (10 min):
- Is for all localized _() style strings.
- Where possible, changes after the freeze will be made by changing the English translation.
- Doesn’t cover dialog layouts (we’re not localizing those).
- At EuroPython, Brian K will be leading a localization sprint, on July 10.
- Misc : (5 min)
- Have something to announce? Issues to bring to the group? Please take the stage, er, mic.

- Lots of short conversations with the Cosmo team about recurrence
John
- Modified use of Yield which I think should fix bug#8739: wxYield called recursively
- Continued to help Reid with conflict dialog
- Bug#8878: Clearing text from search box shouldn't remove the cancel search button was fixed in the previous rewrite of the menu and toolbar code in revision #14406
- Attached a patch for Bug#9381: Selecting multiple collections in sidebar and then choosing "Publish" only shares the first selected and assigned back to Morgen
- Fixed Bug#9330: recorded script: Quick entry items not created on playback
- Reviewed Jacob's work on scripting and helped Phil Jones with Quick Entry.
- Fixed part of bug#7978: Search results tweaks:
- Search results now return in Dashboard view sorted by Rank column.
- Rank column is the same width as the Triage status column, but is resizable.
- Search rank bar is displayed as a sequence of SearchRank.png bitmaps.
- When the search rank bar is selected, its brightness matches the brightness of the text foreground,
- Menu View->Triage Table View now chooses the correct triage table view whether or not search results are showing
- Search now limits the search to the selected/filtered items displayed in the sidebar. Changing the selected collection or filter now updates the search.
- The find menu now no longer switches back to the last search results. This is done because search is now limited to the items selected/filtered in the sidebar, so to restore the search results would require restoring the selected/filtered state of the sidebar.
- Narrowed down why search results aren't displayed from feeds plugin
- Entered separate bugs for the part of bug#7978 that have not been addressed:
- Bug#9640: search results from the feeds plugin
- Bug#9641: Make the search relevant bars right-align
- Bug:9642: Collection name should ... if there isn't enough room in the sidebar to show search results number.
- Fixed bug#8645: summary table view doesn't refresh to show the search results from the selected collection
- Sorted through a handful of new bugs updating them as appropriate
Also, fixed a bug where searching while displaying search results doesn't update the results.
- Fix bug#9584: r14757 broke "0 items" display caused by duplicate block names in summaryblocks.py
