This is an outline for the current proposal on the table for handling filtered shares in release 0.5.

Lisa's Sidebar All my items In Out Trash Work Karate

Use Case #1: Lisa shares "All my events" with Sheila

• appears as collapsed category "Lisa's stuff" - does not list work and karate.
• Lisa can not then share Work events with Sheila.
• Both Sheila and Lisa can add and delete events to/from Lisa's stuff.
• Shared events stamped as other kinds appear in those app sections for Lisa's Stuff.
• If a shared item is unstamped as an event, it disappears from the share.

Use Case #2: Lisa shares "Work" events with Mimi.

• Mimi accepts the share and a sidebar item labelled "Lisa's Work" appears.
• The incoming share icon is only enabled when Mimi selects Events/Lisa's Work.
• A partial share is indicated when Mimi selects All/Lisa's Work.
• No share icon is displayed when Mimi selects Mail/Lisa's Work although it may contain events stamps as mail.
• If Sheila delete's an event from Lisa's Stuff and it is also in Lisa's work, it disappears the next time Mimi syncs

Use Case #3: Lisa shares "Work" tasks with Mimi

• This does not appear as a new collection in the sidebar.
• When Mimi clicks on Lisa's Work/Task, the sharing icon will appear.

Limitations and Implementation Notes

1) My sidebar shows every category of remote origin items OR if "null" category appears -> collapse to 1 per user.

2) No access control GUI -> invitations can go to anyone with no ALL implications

3) No merging of categories

4) No multi-select of categories

5) Stamped items might be shared twice ie: a "work" event + task shows up in both work events and work tasks on server - also items in 2 categories uploaded twice.

6) Can only add appropriate items (by kind) to a share of remote origin ->worst case they are deleted when you sync ->best case, prevent user from adding

7) Sharee can't see both All and category from same server.

8) drag item into category it's assigned that category -. if dragged to stuff it has not category.

9) Can't edit share name in sidebar

10) deletion on (if we get to it would happen silently)

11) For 0.5 all items in a share are added to my all collection.

12) Lisa shares Work events with Mimi, Lisa shares Work tasks with Mimi.
