Meeting Notes -- 14 May 2003

When & Where

  • Wednesday 14 May 2003 -- 4:30
  • OSAF office in Belmont

Who attended

Brian's agenda going in

  • Get the data model work integrated into the mainstream development process.
  • Get the observable queries proposal injected into the development process.
  • Give Michael a copy of my resume, and talk about the path towards becoming a paid OSAF employee.
  • Set priorities for the tasks on my plate.

Game plan coming out

  • Brian
    • Brian will review the new issue briefs, particularly the one about the development process.
    • Brian will look at the plans for the new "table outline widget", and make sure the data model supports the needs of the widget. (Brian needs to get in touch with Chao to get a copy of the use cases that have been written up for the table outline widget.)
    • For the series of OSAF meetings coming up next week, Brian will attend any that touch on data model issues.
    • Brian will take on the task of owning a "dictionary of terms", with the intent of using a common vocabulary and avoiding misunderstandings caused by ambiguous terms. Terms can be confusing whent one term has more than one meaning, like "event", or when two terms may possibly mean the similar things, like "observable queries" and "change notifications".
    • Brian will start working on preparing a presentation about the data model, to be given to any interested OSAF staff sometime after the end of May.

  • Michael
    • Michael will schedule a meeting to talk about integrating the data model into the mainstream development process. Meeting to include at least John, Michael, Katie, and Brian. Goal of scheduling it in the next week.
    • Michael will review Brian's resume, and keep Brian in mind in the next few weeks as OSAF is making plans about staffing. smile
