Background Current Week

Per Philippe's e-mail, this is a sketch. Please scroll to the bottom to view the text on the bottom left-hand corner, it could display 'This Week' or 'March 12-18'.

Analysis of the problem:

  • Hard to tell from looking at the calendar canvas if you're on "This week", "Some future week", "Some week in the past"
  • Understanding when it's NOT this week is as important as knowing when it IS this week (aka the LACK of a visual cue for when it's NOT this week may not be enough to alert the user.)
  • Distinguishing between past and future is important as well, but not as important as the distinction between "This week" v. "Not this week"

Challenges

  • Don't want to obscure, be obscured by or compete with busy event lozenges on the calendar canvas

Proposal: Use a color strip to communicate: PAST, PRESENT FUTURE (colors match TRIAGE STATUS colors for DONE, NOW, LATER)
