Apps Team Status December 21st, 2006

This is a "no meeting - status only week". Please update your weekly status here under. Have a nice holiday next week!

Status

Brian

  • Working on Bug 6717 Subscribe to IMAP folders : Chandler events, Chandler tas...
  • Working on Bug 6715 Chandler to Chandler email headers
  • Working partially on Bug 6709 Mail threading and Schema redesign
  • PTO for the holidays

Bryan

  • Finally fixed the mouse-capture problems I'd been bogged down on: gdb enabled me to see my own copy/paste error that led to a later segfault.
  • Implemented prefix display ("fr: me@example.com") in the Who column
  • Reworked drawing to better use cached fonts & measurements elsewhere in the dashboard, too.

Jeffrey

  • 1 PTO day flying to Atlanta
  • Various vobject fixes (fixed sharing problem involving all-day EXDATEs, fixed bugs in ics_diff and added it to vobject package)
  • Calsify mail about RDATEs with PERIODs being annoying
  • Fix for bug 7422, can't set alarms on recurring events
  • Chatted more with Katie to try to clarify my suggestions about message-ids (which I should have called diff-ids)

John

  • Checked in my "proof of concept" for recording scripts. This provoked a subtle, and difficult to track down, recusive import problem in the pje's schema code that caused the unit tests to fail, which I eventually fixed.
  • Spent a bunch of time trying to figure out why functional tests fail on Windows. After wasting a bunch of time I this I decided to put it on hold for awhile so I can concentrate on other tasks.
  • Tracked down a subtle bug in the wing project files that caused them to not work on Macintosh. I worked with the guys at wing to get it fixed. In the mean time I checked in a work around so they should now work.
  • Fixed problems with script recording that caused it to fail on Linux and Macintosh.
  • Spend a bunch of time of new bugs.
  • My children showed up in Utah for the holidays, so I took off a few days to be with them.

Philippe

  • Board meeting (preparation and attending)
  • Tracked alpha5 progress with devs
  • Started to assimilate Markku's pmtool code (plan to modify it enough that it might be useful for tracking progress)
  • PTO since Monday (though still enough on line to clean up emails and perform background tasks)

Reid

  • Spent a lot of time trying to get Windows to pass functional tests
    • like John, I put it on hold so I could get some real work done
  • Fixed Bug#6749 (Search field looks pant...) by using Robin's new wx.SearchCtrl
  • worked on Bug#6318 (Triage: clickable widget in detail view markup bar)
    • initial code didn't put a button in the markup bar, just a space; hmmm
    • talked with Bryan about names for the bitmaps
    • Bryan changed their names to better reflect their functionality, and the fact that they are used outside the markup bar (i.e. don't use a "Markup" prefix)

Robin

  • Identified a bug in the Python build, (Bug#7577) that I logged and helped Bear and Andi to resolve.
  • Closed Bug#7578: Update OSAF's wx to 2.8.0.1.
  • Closed Bug#6766: Create a "SearchField" control for wx.
  • Closed Bug#6522: 1 pixel gap between top of all-day area and bottom of column header.
  • Closed Bug#6640: strange cursor makes UI unresponsive.
  • Closed Bug#7248: make install in external/wx always does make binaries first.
  • Also made some tweaks to how the calendar canvas changes the cursor. By only calling SetCursor when it actually needs to change then some flicker on wxGTK is removed.
  • Various community support activities via email and IRC.
