Apps Team Meeting 27 July 2006

Since most of us are either at OSCON or remote today, we will not have our regular Apps meeting. Please post your status here however.

Status

John

• Worked on bug#1745: Use displayName for Item titles?. After completing my part of the task, to remove all the displayName attribute aspects and update the code that uses them, I handed it off to pje, who noticed that I missed hundreds of occurrences of displayName. Fortunately, he's been able to move forward without help from me.
• Added Wing project files for each platform, debug and release, that "just work". Also updated the wiki documentation on how to debug Chandler with Wing.
• Fix Bug#6389: Selecting more than one collection results in assertion error
• Helped Markku with Fix bug#1301: Feeds parcel: mouseover link doesn't show URL in status bar.
• Worked on an event dispatch hook for Ashkan's project.

Reid

• Tried to close Bug#5906 for Alpha 3.
  • Code is complete, but the is an issue with the visibility of the search bar
  • debugger shows the search bar is there, it's just not displaying at all
  • Tried several workarounds, none of which were successful
  • Trying to get help from Stefan Csomor, who has worked on wx Mac code in the past and will be at WWDC this year

Robin

• Your status here...

Markku

• Closed Bug#1310, Bug#5972, Bug#6227, and Bug#6242.
• Bug#6241 is pending code-review.
• Started working on a new project for project management. Currently conducting a literature survey on existing theories, techniques, and implementations.

Brian

• Wrote up proposal for EggResourceManager^? API architecture and sent to the list for RFC on Friday.
• Incorporated feedback from list on EggResourceManager^?.
• Currently driving on the proposal which includes changes to the internal Chandler i18n API's.
• Finished the EggResourceManager^? Egg and am writing unit tests for it.
  
• Next steps are to make the changes to the Chandler i18n API to support the EggResourceManager^?, create an SVN location for the EggResourceManager^? which is a stand alone module ala VObject and Zanshin, and incorporate the EggResourceManager^? egg in to the build enviroment for Chandler.
  
• Last i18n hurdles are to get wx XRC localized which is Markku's task and is complete minus integrate, get the OS X version of wx to find its own wxstd.mo files which is Robin's task and is in progress, finish of the removal of displayName from schema currently PJE's task, and finally allow refreshing of localized values in the repository when the locale set changes which is John A and my task.

• At OSCON, put a fair amount of work into tweaking my vobject presentation. It seemed to be well received when I gave it.

Philippe

• Alpha3 duties: daily Bug Councils, triage and monitoring with devs
• Worked on Bug#6117
• Interns presentations: posted a plan on the Wiki, prepared slide templates, synced up with other KKIE groups
• Triaged alpha4 and beyond issues with team
• Completely up to date now with regards to my list reading and answering
