    • John focusing on fixing the wx issue
    • David on wxColumnHeader integration
    • Reid to land his markupbar next week

Meeting notes

Question du Jour : Has anyone tried Scooby 0.1?

  • Alec, Jed, Reid checked it out
  • Alec thinks Scooby can become richer than Chandler (on calendaring) pretty fast

0.7 Planning and Progress

Alpha2 plan

  • One week away from code/feature complete
  • Bryan is concerned about his notification tasks, esp. regarding new bug report rate
  • John is happy about the state of his wxGrid work: all of his related bugs are believed to be fixed
  • David is concerned about the columnheader grid integration; plans on first look on Monday
  • Reid says that he's in good shape for making MarkupBar? usable for alpha2

wx tarball

  • at tarball 42: 36 + a small number of changes
    • wxGrid, wxMac antialiasing, wxColumnHeader, minor others, but no DnD fixes (yet)
  • agreed that improving wx build / test procedures would be much appreciated
  • ...and then we talked about wx build issues for awhile smile

Big Features update

  • dashboard: Alec has been improving things under the hood, including a sweet fix to SmartCollections?
  • scheduling: Bryan says all on course, including new bugs wink
  • styles: Jed's still working on it; Alec has requested a patch from Jed

Bugs and Tasks

  • Philippe is still a bit worried about high bug count
  • many new alpha2 blockers (but perhaps 50% will get punted)
  • Bryan has suggested a new startup dialog for repository management options

Misc

Geek Talk

Jed to get his Style design and code reviewed

People

David will be leaving us in May. He promised he'll continue to stay in touch with us though... smile

Intern

Who will mentor Markku? This needs to be resolved by 28 Apr

Status

Alec

  • fixed Bug#5386 - allow multiple selection to overlay in calendar/table - this was a big change that also resulted in some cleanup to the notion of selection, removing our old selectedItemToView in tables
  • new Bug#5703 is a bit of a headache - discussed options with Andi and John. Basically trash is broken but it means reworking SmartCollection? to fix it.. I may look for an easier fix if the larger change won't make it for alpha2
  • looks like Bug#5368 is back on the table - its causing performance problems with background syncing. I'm going to try to fix this today/tomorrow...

Bryan

  • Had good code review of new notifiction mechanism - see the geektalk page for notes.
  • Got swamped by new "regression" bugs in the last week. I've set aside the notification work to focus on bugs; as a result, the new notif stuff may get left out of alpha2.
  • Working part time during the film festival, next two weeks.

Jed

  • Your status here...

Jeffrey

  • Your status here...

John

  • Got my wxGrid changes into wx 41, and helped get it rolled.
  • Fix Bug#5616: Test > Certificates > Manage Certificates creates a new collection every time
  • Fix Bug#5606: DeprecationWarning: Please use PyGridTableBase.GetAttr instead, in twisted.log
  • Added features necessary for the upcoming release to wx. rolled 42
  • Turned on wxGrid column resizing in Chandler
  • Worked on narrowing down the particular revision that caused the wx 39 functional tests to fail
  • Learned more about why I can't reliably build Chandler

David

  • wxColumnHeader - wxGrid integration status:
    • finished vertical orientation support
    • corrected 2-3 selectiona dn rendering bugs
  • updated wxChandler wiki - fixed a ton of links broken by global wiki SW update wink

Philippe

  • Mostly alpha2 monitoring : checked bugs, created graphs, prioritized tasks, checked with people, etc...
  • Participated to design list threads
  • Submitted a talk to EuroPython?
  • Intern recruiting duties

Reid

  • my wx change for anti-aliasing - Bug#5101 - finally landed (after a month in limbo)
  • one the wx tarball updated, I checked in my fix to turn off anti-aliasing for the calendar canvas
  • Markup bar work progressing
    • working on ControlBlocks.Button, adding "Stamp" as a type of button
    • integrating calls to __init() was harder than I expected
    • hope to get multi-state buttons to draw for me today, check in tomorrow if everything goes well

Robin

  • Enabled wx.DataObjectComposite to report which component data object was the one to receive the data from the clipboard or DnD source.
  • Tracked down the details about a problem with receiving clipboard or DnD data in the prefered format. Asked wx-dev for some help.
  • Fixed Bug#5468. Add code to remove the selection (if any) in wxTextCtrl::WriteText for multi-line controls
  • Helped Reid with some Python questions.
  • Changed how the stock objects (wx.RED, wx.RED_PEN, wx.RED_BRUSH, etc.) are initialized. They are now created as a wrapper object that initializes itself on first use (when an attribute of the object is requested.)
  • Started creating wrappers for the wxRichTextCtrl.
  • Various cummunity support activities.
