Minutes

Question du Jour

Thoughts about Mitch's governance email?

  • Bryan : none of it was a surprise really
  • Alec : surprise that there was no controversy
  • Reid and pretty much everyone nodding to Alec's comment
  • Philippe : Like the consensus building, stewardship model. Worries that too much chatter could kill energies.

0.7

Progress

Progress last week on the following :

  • 0.6.1 done! Thanks Bryan for fixing the last bug.
  • Triaging bugs : Looks like we're converging on a well identified subset for bugs (especially for dogfood calendaring bugs). Couple of controversies between Dev and Design on some priorities but we worked them out.
  • Hints : Checked in, used by the calendar, next step is Monday meeting on Notifications and Collections.
  • Section prototype : Alec implemented a prototype (demoed this morning). John has some ideas using other wxWdigets. Philippe to call for a meeting to review all this.

0.7 Phases for Main Features

Sheila describes the current thinking from the PPD team on how the big feature tenets could be cut in sub projects or phases.

The initial idea is to try to cut the big tenets in chunks that can be phased to users in a way that will allow to inform the design and be somewhat usable. Sheila will email the dev list about this.

We discusses how to link that to milestones. We think it's up to us (dev team) to pick and choose from the phases and decide what the first milestone will be.

Clearly, it's important for all of us to participate to the upcoming dev list thread on the subject.

iMIP

Grant is the owner of that feature work. We may actually not do this since the interop is not a primary focus. We will however try not to reinvent the wheel so may be implementing a subset of iMIP will do for 0.7.

Component owners

Didn't have time to cover that during the meeting. We need to review the current list and meet to decide owners.

Misc

Didn't have time to cover that during the meeting

People

Internship : descriptions reviewed, need to be posted in places interns will see.

Reviews : date approaching. we are going to be writing this in 2 weeks from now.
