Meeting Notes

  • Status & Planning
    • Philippe to e-mail the current Excel spreadsheet around (now contains features and mapping to 0.6 tenets)
    • We'll have a meeting Thursday to sort and SWAG this feature work
    • Individual status: see below
  • Specs: Sheila posted the list of specs. All of us will be contributing to some of those. Status is posted. Reviews need to be scheduled.
  • Code review: We all agree that we need to do more of this and that they are more efficient if done frequently on smallish chunks. Still there are lots of ways to do this. Lively discussion followed, some snippets / ideas here under:
    • do code review after the code complete per feature (part of the feature sign off). Cons: could be too big to review and/or do something about it...
    • do reviews after each check ins. Cons: constant distraction, not that valuable
    • review is a task, need to schedule it and/or take into account in the work load
    • form: 2 or 3 people on Skype using the same editor, most efficient (John)
    • not one size (process) fits all...
    • use people from other teams (Andi, Grant great reviewers)
  • Subversion: Bear working on making Bonsai work with Subversion before we move to it. We won't be moving to it before next month. For those who like/require a good GUI (a la SmartCVS), try SmartSVN and share findings with others.
  • People:
    • We talked to Robin and agreed on a plan for the next few weeks (first, move to wxPython 2.6)
    • Donn back 2 days per week (contingent on contract work resolved). Will work on some of Jed's bug (Drag and Drop), productivity features (like Journaling or Repository Viewer)
  • Cosmo: please check the IRC chat tomorrow for more info.
  • CSG: John off the hook, Alec will participate to the presentation and the sprint
  • Open mike
    • David working with Heikki on some tar balls issues
    • Mac OS X 10.3.9 is available, issues with Java
    • New version of Mozilla
