Meeting Notes

  • 0.5
    • What do we do with the Open questions? Sheila posted the debrief notes. Lisa, Katie and Philippe to translate this into a set of Action Items.
  • 0.6
    • P1 SWAG: not completed yet, Philippe to meet with devs individually to go over those this week
    • Other tasks: gathering info right now
    • Objective: get to a plan by next week (Philippe)
  • Specs
    • We'll use HTML
    • Specs will get checked in CVS/Subversion
    • Need to create a template (Lisa, Philippe)
    • Master List to be posted by Philippe
    • Ownership: dual dev / designer (Mimi)
    • Important: Specs need to be useful, productive tools that help us communicate and agree on what we are building.
  • Task Tracking
    • Bugzilla limited for this. Philippe to see if his TRD idea can be implemented in current Bugzilla.
  • Other news
    • WWDC (June, in SF): David to go
    • OSCon (August, in Portland): Python tutorial by Anthony Baxter could be interesting for all of us. Not decided yet who will go.
    • Phillip Ebby coming in 2 weeks: Ask him to do some code review and present his findings
  • Open Mike
    • Python 2.4.1 (David): we should move to it.
    • QA Lab: we have 3 machines in there so far
    • Linux dev machines: coming in a couple of weeks
    • Linux: should we move to FC3 or FC4?

Actions

  • Philippe and the dev team will SWAG bugs and tasks for 0.6
  • Owner and proposal for fonts/borders/beveling work.
  • Proposal for dnd, taking into account bugs and native behaviors.
  • Katie to set performance targets/goals for 0.6

  • Learning OSAF tools: Wiki, CSV, Bugzilla, Python...
  • Learning Chandler, posted a First Impressions doc
  • Diving into 0.6 planning (P1 bugs, tasks, ...): objective is to have a first credible view of the plan by next week

  • Got wxWidgets 2.5.5 up and running on my machine.
  • Integrated mini-calendar into wxWidgets 2.5.5.
  • Worked on wxWidgets refresh problem on linux.

David

  • more Column Header work:
    • added various requested features
    • fixed several small bugs
    • rewrote docs
  • switched wxPython build over to Unicode
  • continued work on wxPython v2.5.[4,5]

Alec

  • Lots of calendar changes:
    • new column header
    • new calendar item shape
    • multi-day events, including dragging to move and resize
    • proper (sorted) drawing for correct stacking
  • updates to VisualStyle proposal
  • continuing development of AlecFlettXulVsCpia

Bryan

  • Reworking attribute editors (fixing bugs, adding sample support)
  • Trying to become more cross-platform efficient by sharing my source tree across machines.
